Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. ~1 Thessalonians 4:17
If you had told me last March
that I would be living in a different state by the end of the summer,
I would have thought you were crazy.
I had lived in our house for over 20 years
and in that town for over half a century.
Yet, God did the unexpected and He did it in a hurry.
You could describe it as a rapid move.
I believe this verse is talking about the rapture.
God in a "twinkling of an eye," as Paul describes it
in 1 Corinthians 15, will call his people home.
This is not death.
This is a singular event when
perishable life changes to imperishable life;
when mortality puts on immortality
for believers in Christ, all at once, everywhere.
Here in body, then in a twinkling of an eye,
body, soul and spirit gone to be with Christ forever.
"Twinkling" is defined as any rapid movement in this passage.
It will be a rapid move.
I love our new home in a different state
and I know I will love my new home in heaven.
I'm ready and looking forward to it.
